What I like in particular about the department store makeup and skincare is that they carry ranges not readily available elsewhere on the high street and target the mid to high end range of products. Price matching promotions occur quite regularly as well as bonus gifts such as sample sizes of products to try. This great news for consumers and I say bring it on!
I attended the Emma Hardie Skincare event held in Marks & Spencer Sprucefield. The event was free and open to the public. On offer was a complimentary facial and the chance to try out their product range for yourself.
So a little background about the brand firstly. Emma Hardie is a facialist who designed her range of products to compliment the users own skin. They are made using a range of targeted botanicals and contain no parabens, silicones, mineral oils, sulphates, or even retinol and glycolic. The last two being super trendy in skincare at the moment. The range is not tested on animals. I will also point out that all the products are safe to use during pregnancy.
The first thing I noticed about the products was the gorgeous packaging. The bottles and jars are a gorgeous gold colour with distinct lettering. Secondly the smell! Wow it was amazing and immediately made me feel relaxed and at ease.
Harvest is the Emma Hardie Representative for the Marks & Spencer Sprucefield store. She carried out my facial and was such a lovely girl. Not only did Harvest knew the brand very well, she was able to tell me all about the products and their ingredients. She started by using the Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm which literally melted all the dirt and grime from my face along with my makeup. It felt amazing on my skin and although it is an oil, it was not heavy or thick and my skin felt beautifully clean. It coms with a two sided cleansing cloth which is muslin on one side and soft flannel on the other. The soft side can be used daily and the muslin side used weekly to slough away any dead skin cells. Harvest pointed out that sometimes we can overexfoliate out skin and strip out all the good oils and cells leaving our skin dull, and thirsty. The cloth is machine washable which is great for my busy lifestyle.
But wait there is more
Harvest then used the Emma Hardie Midas touch face serum on my face which contains hyaluronic acid. This serum targets lines and wrinkles and helps to strengthen and hydrate the skin. At this point, my skin feels soft and much plumper already and the botanical smell of the products is not overpowering (as someone who can be quite sensitive to strong smells).
At this point Harvest spritzed my face with the Emma Hardie Plump & Glow Hydrating Mist. I adore this product! It comes in an amazing tube and would be great to use when on holiday or on an airplane to keep my face and in fact any part of my body hydrated. Harvest also pointed out that the scan be used over makeup during the day to keep my face feeling fresh. What a winner!
Just when I think that we are at the end of the facial, I am introduced to the Emma Hardie Protect and Prime SPF30, which offers eight hours of protection from UVA and UVB as well as protecting from environmental pollution. This product is fantastic and eliminates the need for a separate moisturiser and primer. Harvest pointed out that this could be used on it own on make up free days as it has a blurring effect to cover blemishes and give you a flawless skin look.
My skin is feeling amazing and I am so happy with the products that have been used. This is when the creme de la creme of products is pulled out! It is a facial oil. Now I know what you are thinking, an oil ugh! but I promise that this stuff is amazing! I will also point out that it is great to use an oil on oily skin as it helps the skin rather than strip it and cause overproduction. This skin oil would be great on any part of the body that need hydration. It smells amazing and is non greasy and light on the skin. I would definitely recommend this as a night treatment to give your skin an overnight boost.
So would I recommend it?
Harvest didn’t push the products or make me feel obliged to buy anything. In fact she gave me some samples to try at home. She also told me to make another appointment at any time for a complimentary facial with her.
Overall I was delighted with the service and the products. I am excited to try out my samples and see how they affect my skin over the next few days.
