One Minute review: Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r
One of my first purchases in the States was the Fenty Beauty (by Rihanna) Pro Filt’r foundation. I was lucky enough to get my hands on the soft matte longwear foundation and even better to be colour matched at Sephora on the day there were 13 new colours released as well as matching concealers. Sounds great!
I went for colour 260 which is a neutral colour – neither warm nor cool. It is a little lighter than I normally wear but I liked the colour on my skin and felt it was the best match. I have heard such amazing things about Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r that I am simply dying to try it out! I love that Sephora have so much onhand to help you sample everything. You have mascara wands, lip hoofs, cotton pads, tissues and removers galore – and that is even before you start to sample ALL the goodies they have in store!
The foundation goes on smoothly and the coverage is great. My skin did not react to the formula nor was the texture unsuitable. It soaks nicely into my skin and the initial look is flawless. I used a brush to apply as I usually do.
Not worth the hype
Unfortunately there is where the good things end. I used all my other regular products with the foundation and my bronzer was left patchy not to mention my highlighter which sat in clumps.
By the end of the day the foundation had worn off unevenly and looked practically scaldy on my face! It was hard to remove and left my skin dry and thirsty. I used twice my normal amount of moisturiser just to feel that my skin was nourished again.
The formula states that it is a matte and I do believe that this would be perfect for someone with oily skin. However I have normal/dehydrated skin and I feel this was simply unsuitable. I may even mix with moisturiser and use it as a lighter coverage foundation.
I am not one to let something go to waste and I will mix it with a dewier foundation to use it up.
Or give it to my daughter …..
