    LifewithChristine is under construction!

LifewithChristine is under construction! I have finally taken the plunge and scrapped the terrible WordPress themes (no offence WordPress!)   I have been seriously struggling to find a theme for my blog since I removed the PIPDIG one (you can read why here)   After the scandal regarding Pipdig being able to wipe out websites using a plugin I have to admit I got totally freaked. It is super disheartening for someone like me who has invested time (and money) building their website and creating content only to hear it can all be wiped out/destroyed etc.   Therefore I have been trying out a few WordPress themes in order to…

    Amsterdam

Amsterdam Amsterdam is a city I have visited several times over the years. I simply adore the layout of the city with its cobbled streets and canals. There is a wonderful atmosphere in the city at all times of the year.   I have visited in the dead of winter and the height of the summer. I prefer the spring as it is warm without being too hot/cold. Here are my top recommendations for visiting the city. Flower Market (bloemenmarkt) This is a floating market on the canal side. There is a whole street full of various vendors selling all kinds of flowers and bulbs. You can arrange to have…

Tips for visiting New York City on a budget!

Here are my top tips for visiting New York City on a budget. Its been two months since we were in New York and to be honest it feels like an entire lifetime ago. With the weather a little warmer and the prospect of summer in sight, I wanted to pop a little post together on the costs of our travels during the month of January. However this post turned into my top tips so I will cost our trip out at the end of the post. I will give a run down on accommodation, travel as well as food and entertainment costs. Obviously you can do the same trip to…

    New York Part 2 – 2019

Guys welcome back to New York Part 2!   Monday 21/1/19 Today we visited Woodbury Common. This is a huge designer outlet mall outside New York. It usually costs around $50 return per person. However I had been shopping on Groupon and got us a return for only $27 each! Bargain! We bought fresh turkey wraps, fruit and drinks ($17) to eat for breakfast on the bus. Shopping is hungry work and I wasn’t stopping for anyone! We got the Shoreline bus which is the same company that brought us in from the Airport. I was, again, impressed with the condition of the coaches. My only gripe would be that…

    New York Part 1 – 2019

New York was our first stop on the 2019 America/Canada/Iceland tour. I have been before around February 2015 and it was cold and full of snow. I didn’t enjoy it. But I knew that so many people go to New York and have such a great time so I though that would start there. Flights from Dublin are super cheap. It cost us only £267 to fly from Dublin to Stewart Airport. Stewart Airport is about 1 hour north of Manhattan but you can get a coach directly for only £16 each one way. Accommodation I didn’t post much on social media about our accommodation. It was based in Chinatown.…
