When you share your home with other people, especially children it becomes nigh on impossible to find a little corner where you can just have your own things. Teenagers “borrow” your hairdryer, charger cables and anything else they can get their grubby mitts on 🙂
So this week I decided to take back a little bit of the house. I have previously declared my bedroom to be off limits to anyone who doesn’t sleep in there but that just led to an abundance of sleeping bodies in the bed (eye roll)
I took myself off to the local shopping centre (Rushmere Shopping Centre in Craigavon) and armed with my measly budge of £50 I got to work.
My first stop was at Matalan where I purchased the green wall hanging with glass jars for £5. I also purchased the ‘C’ initial for £3. Matalan have an adorable range of homewares in at the moment and it would be so easy to create a quick revamp for pennies.
I then moved onto BM Stores I purchased the mannequin there for £30. It sits perfectly in the corner with a black hassled throw that I found in a charity shop for 50p. BM Stores also had the little hanging mirror for £3.99 which I think is a bargain and I can change the rope to ribbon at a later stage if I want.
The flowers for the hanging votives and the bedside vase were a couple of artificial bunches bought at home bargains for less than £5 combined. I simply cut the stalks for the hanging votives to make them fit and bunched up the remaining ones to go in the bedside vase. The trinket dish was also from home bargains and was around £3.
I have set my gorgeous Jenny Glow candle on the bedside as well and I cannot wait to start buying this. I received it for valentines day and its the English Pear & Freesia scent and is so lush!
So there is my little corner of loveliness. It feels serene and girlie and yet gives me space to relax and chill. Just in case you are wondering the paint on the walls is Dulux Natural Hessian Matt (www.dulux.co.uk) and that the bedding is from Next (www.next.co.uk)
Until next time Lovelies
